Loecher Family Crest
For the first time, the artist was commissioned to create a family crest. Not an easy task considering the elements to be utilized. Eleven children were to be represented as well as symbolizing the father's love of carpentry, his blessing of all his children and grandchildren weekly, the Shekhina and, of course, the initials of the family name in Hebrew and English.
The head of the clan, the father, deep-rooted in his Judaism was the deciding factor to use a Jewish star for the overall visual idea and he is very supportive of all his children and goes out of his way to help all of them and their children, so this was the reason for the wings that enfold and protect (Shekhina. The stones were used to represent the father's strength and humility.
A gold apple for each of the eleven children held in the tree representing the Tree of Life-Tree of Knowledge.
The artist decided that branches would look good using the stones as a backdrop. Eleven branches; one for each child.
