Kol HaNeshama Shiviti
Date Fall 2003
Description
Norman's personal contribution to his congregation in Jerusalem, Kehillat Kol Haneshama, is another example of a Shiviti. The height of the sanctuary with many windows of light flowing through combined with the Jerusalem iron bars and flora was the visual inspiration.
The menorah with the text inside is very symbolic of an element found in most of the existing Shiviti from all parts of the globe and is devotional in theme.
The complete text from the Bible of the Ten Commandments (Exodus:20) is written in micrography around the border.
